When page layouts go bad

Two stories that shouldn't share a page.
More headline & pic combos at Funny or Die.
Having worked on a newspaper and edited a good few newsletters (and, ok a bad few too), I aim to pay attention re what's next to what in a layout.

I've gathered for your delectation some examples of what happens when you don't - here are my favourite headline faux pas.

  3. I'm still scratching my head over just what that last picture is: a tower? a spaceship? A robot? Thanks for the laugh this morning!

  4. How do the editors MISS these?! Very funny. Sometimes the same mismatches happen on TV - you know, when the programme is only just over and they talk over the credits about what's coming next and it's just totally inappropriate. Also on Radio 4 when they start having a laugh and a joke on the Today programme (I wish they wouldn't - it's getting like a zoo in that studio) and then find themselves having to announce a very tragic news story. Anyway, I'll stop now. I'm on a roll!
